Jadine Laverne Poston Grimes, 93, was born on October 1, 1930 in Houston, Texas. She entered into rest on April 5, 2024. Jadine is reunited with her husband of over 60 years, Robert (Bob) Grimes and her mother and father, Alma Mae and Jay Poston. She leaves to cherish fond memories her daughter Cindy Ponder (Tommy) and son Kenneth Grimes (Brenda), grandchildren Tonya Sharkey (Michael), Kyle Ponder, Cody Ponder (BreeAnna) , Kelley Grimes, and Bryan Grimes (Erica), and great-grandchildren Mara, Kathryn, Scarlett, Rowan, and Lennox. Jadine was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School where she was a member of the Carlton Cadettes. She attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville for two years, returning home to get married to Robert Grimes, the love of her life. Together they moved to the Oak Forest area where they raised two children and were active members of St Michael’s Episcopal Church, now Hope Episcopal Church. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after a long career and then spent her time being Nana to her grandchildren. Her life included many fun summers at San Leon on Galveston bay, square dancing, cruising and traveling with Robert, and hosting innumerable holiday gatherings for the family. The memory boxes of all the family are full. Her family is comforted in the knowledge that she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hope Episcopal Church, 1613 West 43rd St, Houston, TX 77018. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, April 12 at Rosewood Funeral Home, 2602 S. Houston Avenue, Humble, TX. A private burial service will be at a later date.
