Obituary for
Tommie Jean Morales (Dobbs)
Tommie was born in Paris, Texas and grew up in Bairdstown, attending school at Delmar High. She lived a rich and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of those around her. She attended business school to become a certified bookkeeper and tax preparer. She later established her own business (TJM Business Service) that thrived for more than 40 years. Her wealth of tax knowledge and meticulous attention to detail garnered great respect of her clients.
Tommie was a loving wife to Armando Morales for 48 years, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together. She was a dedicated mother to her four children, instilling in them the values of love, kindness, and resilience. Throughout her 84 years, Tommie lived with grace and a genuine spirit. She had a passion for expressing herself creatively. In her early years, she enjoyed sewing and working on intricate cross-stitching projects, but she later developed a talent for crocheting. She would spend hours searching for the perfect pattern and investing in endless skeins of yarn to fuel her passion. Tommie was incredibly tuned-in to family and relationships. She was sincere, and genuinely loved her people. Everyone who knew her, loved her deeply. She brought joy into the room with her fun, joyous, contagious laugh. She had compassion and empathy for others that caused you to feel seen, heard and understood. She was open with her emotions and you knew her kind words came from the heart. The personal connections with those she loved is evident in the bins full of special cards and handwritten notes she received over the years; everyone was precious to her.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Thomas Dobbs and Ethel Love (Gage Barber) of Paris, Texas, as well as her brothers, Jimmy Dobbs and Charles Barber; sisters Betty Dobbs Jones, Louise Barber, and Julie Barber Oakes; her beloved husband, Armando Morales; and son, Johnny Cook. She is survived by her brother Lonnie Barber. Tommie is survived and dearly missed by her children, Sherry Lugo and husband Frank, Anthony (Tony) Cook, and Lisa Morales Fegen. She also leaves behind 7 beautiful grandchildren and 13 precious great-grandchildren. Tommie put her trust in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She accepted Him into her heart as a young woman and His grace has shown upon her. She was rich in faith and kept her Holy Bible near her each day. She is now united with our Heavenly Father and the family members who have gone before her. May her soul rest in peace, and may the memories of her love and warmth bring comfort to all who knew her.
