Aline Bennett (Weems)
Aline passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2024 at her home in Splendora, Texas at 80 years of age. She was born on May 1, 1943 in Lufkin, Texas to Robert Kurth Weems and Emma Lee Weems. She met and married her high school sweetheart Jerry Clifton Bennett in 1962 in Houston, Texas. Aline and Jerry went on to have three children, sons Jerry Dwayne, Troy Clifton and daughter Starla Lachelle Bennett. She was a homemaker and devoted mother for the first decade of their marriage. She then began a career outside the home as an accountant and later became a rural route mail carrier. Following that, she drove a school bus for New Caney ISD to conclude her working career. She also loved crafting and started a crafts business. In 2003, at the age of 60, she retired. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the New Caney Garden Club. Some of her favorite hobbies and activities were gardening, fishing and country western dancing.
Aline was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Jerry Clifton Bennett, son Jerry Dwayne Bennett and wife Michele, grandson Cameron Kyle Bennett, partner Christina and soon to be great grandson Cameron Jerry Bennett, grandson Ryan Mitchell Bennett, daughter in-law Lisa Bennett, granddaughter Megan Bennett, partner Ashton Moss and great granddaughter Athena, grandson Brandon Bennett, wife Alexa and great grandson Briggs, brother Robert Lee Weems and wife Jean, twin sister Pauline Giacona, sister Linda Baimbridge, numerous nieces and nephews and friends, as well as her beloved Jack Russell Terrier Pistol. She is preceded in death by daughter Starla Lachelle Bennett and son Troy Clifton Bennett, father Robert Kurth Weems and mother Emma Hill Weems, brothers Raymond, Gerald, and Edward Weems, sisters Nettie Pairett and Merle Meyers.
Aline's family would like you to join them to celebrate her life. The viewing will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, Texas on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, Texas on Friday January 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the main chapel and then graveside interment. A reception will follow at Grangerland Community Center, 15636 FM 3083, Grangerland, TX 77302. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of son Troy Bennett to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, PanCan.org.
