Obituary for Madeline Graham (Wagner)

Madeline Graham (Wagner)
Madeline Wagner Graham
1937-2024

Madeline Graham died surrounded by her loved ones January 4, 2024. Madeline was born to Hilda and Frank Wagner on September 29,1937 in Long Beach, California and her family eventually moved to Houston. She was a proud graduate of Incarnate Word Academy. She worked at First City National Bank for over 25 years where she made many lifelong friends during her banking career.

She married her high school sweetheart Eddie Graham after he returned from the Korean War. They were married for 62 happy years until his death in 2020.

Madeline and Eddie built a life and raised a family and were always active in their kids and grandkids’ lives,
never missing school events, sporting events and dance recitals. She looked forward to the Wagner family reunion in Plantersville every year where she enjoyed catching up with extended family and reminiscing. She loved being Grandma/Nana/Great Nana to her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved spoiling them at Christmas and she looked forward to it every year. Her family was her greatest joy!

Madeline’s other joy was her Catholic Faith where she and Eddie loved volunteering at St. Mary Magdalene
Catholic Church. They could always be counted on to show up when help was needed. Madeline was a twenty-year member of Catholic Daughters and was awarded Catholic Daughter of the Year in 2011. She and Eddie were active in the “Keenagers” Senior Group and could often be found with their circle of friends serving and eating breakfast, most Sunday mornings. Madeline used her banking skills to count offering each Monday and oversaw the Bereavement Committee; she was a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered every year at the Fall Festival. She enjoyed preparing her recipe for the annual Spaghetti Dinner with her many friends.

She and Eddie were able to enjoy their early retirement years traveling. They went on many cruises to exotic
places as well as traveling to Europe and throughout the United States. Many of these trips were with the Graham brothers and wives.

Madeline is preceded in death by her husband Eddie Graham; parents Hilda and Frank Wagner; siblings Duane Wagner and Jim Wagner.

She is survived by her brother Jerry Wagner and wife Barbara, daughter Joan Lufburrow and husband Steve, son Michael Graham and wife Tracy. Her grandchildren are Steve Lufburrow, Jr., and wife Sara, Will Lufburrow and wife Terrell, Meghan, Connor, and Madyson Graham. Great Grandchildren, Leighton, Leslie, Graham, Claira, Beckett, and Elleigh. There were also many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
Contributions in Madeline’s memory can be made to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church Bereavement Fund, 527 South Houston Ave, Humble TX 77338.
