Obituary for
Adrian Lee Ray
Adrian Lee Ray was born in Houston, Texas on September 11, 1962. He lived the majority of his life in the small Texas town of New Caney. He passed away on January 3, 2024 at 61 years of age. Adrian truly was a vibrant faithful man who was full of life. When he was young he loved being outdoors, working on cars, and living a life of adventure. As a young man he loved going out dancing, hunting, fishing, flying planes and having fun. He met his first wife Gracie and they eventually had their only child, Krystina "Nikki" Alvarez. Adrian truly enjoyed spending time with his entire family as much as possible and equally enjoyed his time being active. While training for a bike ride in 1990, Adrian and his friends were struck by a drunk driver. The accident unfortunately left him paralyzed from the chest down and months and months of recovery. Even through his accident and recovery Adrian maintained an optimistic view on life. After the accident Adrian continued to thrive and surpass many things that people didn't think he would be able to ever do again. He was back in the deer blind hunting, driving a van, and running the roads. He enrolled in college and graduated with his Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Houston. During his life he was supportive of his daughter making sure she was able to participate in everything from raising animals to dance to travel softball. Later in life he met Virginia "Rene" and eventually fell in love. They got married in September of 2015, and he loved spending his time with his wife at home and at the deer lease.
Adrian was a man who never met a stranger, enjoyed making memories with family and his daughter, and telling stories about life to all. He always held strong in his faith even through life's toughest times. Adrian is survived by his wife, Virginia "Rene" Ray. His daughter Krystina "Nikki" Alvarez and son-in-law Jacob Alvarez. His siblings, sister Becky Williams (husband Wesley Williams), brother Noah Ray Jr. (wife Kem Ray).
Nieces and nephews, Amber McGhee (husband Chad McGhee), Ashley Cranney (husband Chris Cranney), Noah Ray III, Leslie Fults (husband Donny Fults), Kayla Barricks (husband Chris Barricks), Steven Williams (spouse Megan Arimond), Marcus Ray (wife Lauren Ray), and many great nieces and nephews.
