Delton McArthur Doss
Delton M Doss (Mack), 80, died September 9,2023, in his home surrounded by family. He was born May 5, 1943, in Bernice, La. the son of Oscar Delton and Doris Marie (Grafton) Doss.
Delton graduated from Louisiana Tech University Class of 1965 with a BS in Accounting. Following graduation, he married his college sweetheart, Carole McAdams, and they settled in Lafayette and New Iberia before moving to Kingwood, TX in 1988. They celebrated 58 years of marriage in June. Delton was a loyal member of the Highland Baptist Church in New Iberia where he taught Sunday school. He worked for CLECO where he was a computer programmer. His hobbies include photography which turned into a very successful side job lasting over 17 years where he recorded memories for so many in the community. His passion late in life was making sure he was present for his grandchildren’s sports, band, choir, church or school events. He was also an avid Houston Astros fan and a member of Second Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Marie and Nan. Surviving in addition to his wife, Carole (McAdams) Doss, are his daughters, Dayna (Doss) Simon and Amy (Doss) Davidson and her husband Kendall of Kingwood; five grandchildren, Clint John Jr. (CJ) and his wife Mackenzie, Callie Nicole, Madison Claire and her boyfriend Stacy Ites, Brodie Len, and Kassidy Jane; one brother, Kenny and his wife, Laurie, of Bernice; two great grandchildren, Hadley Tate and Harrison Reed; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home, 22271 U.S. Hwy 59, Porter TX. Between 5-8pm Friday, Sept 22, 2023
A service of remembrance will be held 10 am. Saturday, Sept 23, 2023 at Rosewood Funeral Home, 22271 U.S. Hwy 59, Porter TX officiated by Reverend Jonathan Gray. Interment immediately afterward.
