Thomas Lynn Owin
Lt Col Thomas Lynn Owin, USA (Ret), born in Houston, Texas to Nadynne Nanney and Bernard Thomas Owin on August 2, 1943, departed this life on July 19, 2023.
A graduate from John H Regan High School in 1961, he then joined the United States Air Force as a Supply Officer. While in the Air Force he achieved ranking of Lieutenant Colonel and earned his Master's Degree in Science from University of Arkansas. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 24 years Denise Lynn Owin. Both devoted animal lovers, they shared many dogs throughout the years, such as his favorite pug, Tong Toy.
He was predeceased by his Aunt Thelma Lorene Brown, Uncle Albert Roger Brown, and great-granddaughter Aubree Mena. He is survived by daughters Lynn Fischer, her husband Timothy, and Julie Deboben; sons Victor Mena, his wife Amber, and Duane Mena, his wife Stephany, brother Michael Owin and his wife Estelle; grandchildren William, Lorene, Henry, Daniel, Chance, Junior, Shelby. Mckenzie, Andy, Lauren, Macey, Madison, Mackenzie, Gracie, Andrew, Abigail; great- grandchildren Logan, Wyatt, Lindsey, Adalynn, Eli, Isaac, Theodore, Trip, and Lily.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rosewood Atascocita Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 27, 2023 10:00 am.at Rosewood Atascocita Chapel, with full honors interment to follow at the Houston National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
