Marlon was many things to many people -- husband, dad, pawpaw, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He was a jack of all trades, funny, smart and loving. Marlon had a great sense of humor and loved playing jokes on his family and friends. He had a great ear when you needed to talk and offered great advice with a few wise cracks. He had a soft spot for animals of all kinds, especially his rabbit.
Marlon went to high school in Splendora and graduated in 1978. On September 15, 1979, he married his soulmate Susan (Moore) Pruett and went on to have three children. Marlon was a veteran. He served in the Marine Corp for 4 years plus two years reserved. He enlisted in 1979 and was given an honorable discharge in 1983. For the past seven years, Marlon worked as a Service Technician for American Trailer World. In 2023, he received the Ace Achievement award for his hard work and dedication to his job. During his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley with family, taking trips to the beach, working on anything with an engine, or relaxing in his chair enjoying a good western or two.
Marlon is preceded in death by his son Christopher, parents Stanley and Ruth, Mother-in-law Loretta Blonstein and husband Dave, his grandparents, all his Aunts and Uncles except one, and Sister-in-law Cynthia (Moore) VanNess.
Marlon is survived by his wife Susan Pruett, son Jeffery Pruett, daughter Tiffany Brymer and husband Rodger, grandchildren Jenny and Nicolas Brymer, brother Hubert Lawson and wife Debbie, sisters Sheila Carter and Pamela Cantrell, Aunt Patsy Pruett Deweber, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
