Obituary for
Patsy Rea Martin (Bass)
Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Patsy Rea Martin of Humble, Texas passed away February 9, 2018 at St Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born March 30, 1944, the middle daughter of Firman Bass and Mildred Wilkerson Bass in Nacogdoches County.
A retired employee of Texas Parks and Wildlife, Patsy enjoyed assisting and talking with all those who came to purchase hunting, fishing, and boating licenses and registrations.
Patsy loved attending church and teaching Sunday School her entire life. She was a founding member of The Pentecostals of Atascocita, where she attended faithfully, preparing the weekly bulletin and yearly calendar. She also served as hostess, and socialized with the Singles and Young at Heart church groups. Her wonderful smile would light up the room and made her many friends!
Spending time with her family and friends was an important aspect of Patsy’s life and she tried to attend every function.
Patsy is survived by her only child, Kevin Martin and wife, Janetha of Humble, Texas; two grandsons, Braxton Martin and wife, Rhea of Humble, Texas and Trenton Martin and wife, Sarah of Jacksonville, Florida; one great-grandchild, Gage Martin of Humble, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Martin; parents, Firman and Mildred Bass; and sisters, Marlene Wilhoite and Shirley Sorrells.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her!
Visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m., with the Service to follow and begin at 6 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018, at The Pentecostal Church of Atascocita, 3448 Atascocita Rd., Humble, Texas 77396. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at McKnight Cemetery in Cushing, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Trenton Martin, Braxton Martin, Donnie Sorrells, Quincy Burnett, Mark Willhoite, Dwayne Carpenter, David Woods, and Gerardo Molina.
