Life Story for Barbara Marie Peterson (Overstreet)

Barbara Marie Peterson passed peacefully into eternity on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Kingwood, Texas following complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Barbara was the best mother anyone could have. She spent her life caring for her family. She had deep bonds with her sister and brother, aunts, uncles, many sister-in-law’s and brother-in-laws. They all raised their families together and loved unconditionally.
She loved to have people around her all the time. Luckily, when you have seven daughters, you usually have seven of their best friends and/or seven of their boyfriends at the house all the time. She never tired of having our friends over as it meant we would be at home. She always preferred her children to be at home.
As her children grew up they began giving her grandchildren. Her undying love for each and every one was totally transparent. She had a special relationship with all of her grandchildren. She loved them with all her heart and thought they did no wrong, even when they did.
She loved babies. When her grandchildren began having babies she wanted to hold and kiss them all the time. Even as she began her battle with Alzheimer’s you could always boost her mood with a baby to love on.
Mom’s passing has left a huge void in our lives. She is survived by her children: Bonnie Burditt, Billie Peterson, Gloria Roberts, Terrie Hunt, Judy Fowler and husband Stephen, Diana Bradshaw, Vickie Gould and husband David. Her grandchildren, Wendy Hershey, Winston Watkins, Jeremy Peterson, Jesse Roberts, Shaunte Lowrance, Randy Jo Hunt, Chase Hunt, Brandon Whitehead, Brianna Lehde, Tara Haire, Terrence Peterson, Justin Bradshaw, Ray Scott Lewis, and Stormee Dunn, Rhett Peterson, and Trey Peterson. Barbara also has 25 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was entrenched in her family. She loved her sister, Joan; brother, Little Frank, and beloved step-son Lester Ray Peterson, Jr.
