Shirley is truly missed and was always an encouragement to me when she showed up for the Tuesday Bible studies at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Medical Center. I would teach even if it was just me and Shirley. When she told me she was retiring my feelings were bitter/sweet because I would truly miss seeing her lovely face and wonderful personality. Sending love, prayers, and blessing to her family today and always. Ms. Frances Ayers

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Shirley Lary for the loss of your dear loved one. The Bible calls death an enemy that God will soon bring to nothing, 1 Corinthians 15:26, therefore, fulfilling the promise at Revelation 21:4. Until then, hold onto your precious memories, lean on family and friends for comfort and God, for he gives us 'everlasting comfort and good hope' to cope in the days ahead, 2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17 and John 5:21.

Shirley faithfully attended the Houston Methodist Tuesday Bible Study for years. I starting doing this bible study after Minister Gloria Archie retired every Tuesday from 1:00-1:30PM. Shirley would walk over from Texas Children's to attend faithfully on Tuesdays and I can't tell you how much she was a blessing and encouraged me to keep the Bible Study going even with a hand full of attendees. When I found out she was retiring I had mixed emotions glad that she was retiring to enjoy more time with her family, church, and friends and also sad because I would miss her beautiful presence and she was beautiful inside and out. Shirley just had a way lighting up a room with her presence. This beautiul and God fearing lady will always be remembered and I thank God for allowing me to know her and love her. My prayers and condolences are with her precious family and friends.

I haven't seen Shirley since she graduated, but I remember her vividly. She was a beautiful, sweet, and friendly girl. My sincere sympathy to my classmate Linda and Shirley's family. I know she will be missed.
