As a kid i could say we had 2 moms and 2 dads and 4 houses.  We were always together.  During the week we spent time at both homes(s) and the weekends were spent at the beach house(s).  We spent the younger-years riding our Schwinn bicycles, side by side doing wheelies as far as you could see.  Then fishing with Mac every weekend( and when you fish with Mac you caught fish like no one can do these days).  As we became older, waterskiing was te life.  I bought the van and he bought the boat.  Every weekend was a challenge to get better and better and we did.  Now this is where Jack was at his best.  He always set up the cooker to make hamburgers for lunch. Of course he took everything to bathe with(water-hose, soap, shampoo and cologne).  We used the side-doors of the van for makeshift walls, so we could be clean for the ride home. 

My older brother had a boat as well but had his own group, but yes we were kinda loners.  Jack's boat did not perform well if there was more weight than the driver.  Our prayers were answered when my brother bought a tournament boat.  We wanted to barefoot and soon learned to walk on water. 

But like takes it's toll on the body as we get old so it slowed us down.  So from the waters to the road, then came motorcycles.  This is where we did not spend as much time together.  My thought was with how we pushed ourselves as kids, no wheelies for us on these.

I thought he would always be there.  I was always urging him to come over more and enjoy my escape, my backyard.  On one of his last visits to my house we talked a while.  It was hot that day, so I convinced him to go out back to float in the pool.  The pool has a current that is like the river.  So he went out back.  Just like my earlier years, I am always pushing to make my backyard an Oasis for anyone who wanted to get away could.  In true Jack form, he said (WOW MAN WOW!!).  I went to get him a bathing suit and in true Jack style he just took off his clothes and was going down the slide as I came out.  It gave me hope that maybe he would start coming over more often. 

Jack was always going by making visits to my Dad whether he was at home or at a nursing home.  I was hoping for that in mine as well.
