To those who knew and loved Diane,  some of her most memorable smile and absolute feeling of euphoria involved holding and loving on babies!!!!!!!!!!!

When she held a baby, she experienced per joy and sublime happiness. 

I am sure the family has hundreds of pictures with her and babies and children.

I can't help but think of Diane and her joy and happiness when I see someone else caught up in that same experience of holding a baby or child!

In the photo, even though she was so ill, and hospitalized in acute rehab, she was experiencing a few moments of happiness of being with my grandson, Everett.

I know her kids and grandkids will remind their children of her love for all those kids she got to hold and love on.  I know in my heart that she experienced great comfort and some temporary diversion from all her pain and health issues !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

In 2001,  the 3 sisters decided to take a trip together.  The previous year had been very emotionally hard after having lost "moma"  the year before in 2000.

So we started thinking about going somewhere where Moma had been and loved to visit.  To our surprise Daddy wanted to go to!!!!!!!!!!

So the 4 of us planned the trip and set off for Utah.  Most of the trip took us to the National Parks of Utah, including Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Canyon Lands, and  Arches National Park

But we also saw the Petrifed Forest an Painted Desert in Arizona.  We went to Lake Powell and saw the Glen Canyon Dam.

My favorite part was scenic highway 12 through the Dixie Nationl Forest.  Diane loved the town of Teasdale and said that she would love to live there.  So if her loved ones or friends ever want to view a place that Diane loved, go to Teasdale and spend the night there.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We finally finished the trip by going through Colorado and heading back to Texas.  Durango and the pass through to Pegosa Springs was a great experience!

Even though Diane's van air conditioner broke and this was June weather, Diane's face never lost its smile and happiness of being out on the road and travelling. 

Us sisters never knew if Daddy felt bad about being back in places where he and Moma had been many many times before, but we were happy to be there where Moma had been and had shared in all of these memories and experiences that we were together as a family.  I think that this trip helped us heal a little from still grieving of losing Moma.  But most importantly, it bonded us extremely close to Daddy.

Diane loved this trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't with Diane during this vacation but I can tell by her smile that she was so happy. Some of the best moments of her life involved being on vacation, especially in the mountains.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She loved going in the van and enjoying the scenery.  I think that she would have lived traveling around in the RV or van if she could have.

A while back Eric and I went to Glacier and Banff and Lake Louise and other places that I know she had been to a few years ago.  Several times I stopped at certain vantage scenery sites and thought to myself, 

"Diane might have been right at this site and seen this very scenery".  It made me happy but also sad.

I know her family is glad that she as able to travel as much as she did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diane and me (joanne) younger sister were excited to have a new baby sibling.  Our mother went into labor and Diane and myself were picked up by our Aunt Iva while Daddy took momma to the hospital.

The next morning Aunt Iva took Diane and I to the Wright Hospital.  We weren't allowed in, but Aunt Iva took us to the side of the building and there was momma at the glass windows looking down at us.   She waved and blew us kisses but then she reached down and held up our baby sister for us to see.  We were so excited and we held each other and jumped around and around, screaming and laughing.  That moment of sheer joy of seeing momma and the new baby,  was a moment that we would never forget!!  The new sister was Lynette and that made 3 George girls!!!!!
