Obituary for Twila Renae Perry (Gordon)

Twila Renee Perry, age 57, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Memorial Hermann in Humble from a sudden heart attack. Twila was born February 27, 1963 in Salinas, California to Larry Gordon and Anita Hill Gordon (now Clark). She spent much of her childhood with her grandparent’s Rev. Ben N. Hill and Alice Hill in the Houston area. Ben was a Baptist Minister and Missionary so they traveled quite a bit, but finally settled down in Navasota where her grandmother is buried. She then followed her mother and grandfather to Alaska where she married Dale Perry. Dale preceded her in death.

While in Alaska Twila received her nursing degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She worked several years in the nursing field until her retirement in 2010. She then returned to Houston area to live with her mother and step-father to assist with her mother’s care. She worked several part-time jobs to keep herself busy including teaching nursing in an associate degree program. She found that she loved teaching more than anything except her grandchildren.

Twila was preceded in death by her maternal grandparent’s rev. Ben Hill and Alice Hill, father Larry Gordon, her husband dale Perry and her brother Ben Gordon. She is survived by her mother Anita Desiree Clark, step- father Dennis Clark of Atascocita, step- brother Steven Clark of Soldotna, Alaska, her three children Katherine Hughes of Tomball, Matthew Byles of Porter, and April Byles of Atascocita. She also has ten grandchildren Leanna, LaTonya and Quentin Hughes of Tomball, Zion and Za’niah, Stevey, Kilyziah, Aleiah and Matthew Byles of the Houston area and Kaymonni Byles of Redwood City, California.
