Obituary for Rogelio Colman Davis Jr.

Rogelio Colman Davis Jr. was born on April 6, 1970 to Clarrisa Y. Blades Davis and Rogelio Davis Sr. in Brooklyn, New York.
Rogelio attended Chapel of the Redeemer Elementary School. He attended Andrew Jackson High School and graduated in June 1989. In High School, he played the trumpet and was very active in the band.
The Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps was Rogelio’s second home. He attended Sunday school; went through the requirements for becoming a member (Junior Soldier, Corps Cadet, Senior Soldier). He was a part of the band playing the cornet. He was also a member of the singing ensemble “New Sounds for Christ”. They traveled throughout the United States and abroad singing the good news of the gospel and ministering to both young and old. At Harlem Temple Corps, Rogelio also drove the children to camp in the church van. He used his time and his talents to the Glory of God.
At Harlem Temple Corps, Rogelio met Alexandria Toney with whom he became friends then later married on September 20 of 1997.
Rogelio worked in sales at Pathmark, Ganin Tires and Coca Cola Corporation.
In 1997, Rogelio was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Throughout this lengthy illness, he kept that beautiful smile and continued praising God.
On Thursday, January 10, 2019, Rogelio heard the Lord calling his name and went home to be with Him.
Rogelio was a very friendly person. He liked it when his friends called him Roger. Others called him Gummy Bear, Baby Shaq, Music Man, and Primo Chico.
Left to cherish his memory is his mom Clarrisa Y. Davis, Keith A. Davis (brother), Lillian R. Blades (grandmother);aunts: Dorothy Ford (Winston), Myrna Jeanmard, Ida Broadhead (Jemmie), Sally Bailey (Ruperto), Angelica Tittle, Norma Sobers, Bette Jarvis, Judy Davis and Dr. Janet Marshall Uncles: Charles H. Blades (Irma), David S. Blades (Nekelda); Godson: Ishmael Weeks; Goddaughter:JoyceAnn and a host of cousins , friends, and The Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps.
Preceded him in death is his wife Alexandria and his dad Rogelio Davis Sr.
