He is also survived by five beautiful grandbabies that he loved with all his heart. Carson Van Meter, Ava Van Meter, Brian Van Meter III, Grayson Van Meter, and Clay Hull.
Brian was born on October 29th, 1965 in Port Sulphur, Louisiana. He is the son of Betty Blanchard Van Meter and the late Richard Lee Van Meter (Rip). He is survived by his older brother, Earl Van Meter, and his younger brother, Matthew Van Meter, and Milka, his wife. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Brian resided in Huffman, Texas with his family for the past 13 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was a generous man who sacrificed his time in order to be a great provider for his family. He was employed by Chevron for 17 years where he had the opportunity to work in many different countries including Korea, Angola, Bangladesh, China, and Nigeria.
Brian’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and traveling, and has many trophies and souvenirs to show for it. He could not pass a flea market or thrift store without stopping for fear of missing out on a deal.
Brian was one of the most loving, caring, and uplifting people. He never met a stranger and could sit and talk to you for hours. He was a friend to everyone he met. If you stopped by the house you better be prepared to stay for a meal and a beer. You haven’t lived if you’ve never been to one of his crawfish boils or tasted his gumbo.
The man had a style of his own. He was often seen wearing… Hawaiian shirts, camo crocs, fedoras, and reading glasses from his favorite 99 cent store. No one could rock a mustache like Brian.
Brian’s love for his family was abundant and he was not afraid to show his affection. It was evident that he was head over heels in love with his wife even after 35 years of being together.
