Obituary for Daphne LaVerle Parker (Langston)

LaVerle Langston Parker was born March 17, 1931 in Rusk, Texas and passed away peacefully August 6, 2018 in Baytown, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

She lived in Crosby, Texas with her husband and children since 1959 and retired from the South Texas District Office of the Assemblies of God Churches, after working there for more than twenty years.

LaVerle was a wonderful and loving Christian lady that loved the Lord as the head of her life. She was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God church and a recent member of Lakeway Baptist Church. LaVerle and her family loved gospel music and were a part of many singing groups as a family, having beautiful voices from the adults down to the grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting dolls, antique glass, fashion and beautiful flowers. LaVerle was a very happy person with a great sense of humor and loved so much to have family gatherings that she affectionately called "Parties".

LaVerle is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Marlin “Sonny” Parker, her brother, Rayford Langston and her sister, Janice Hill. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Nelson and Terry Barnett, grandchildren, Rachel Martine and husband Kevin Martine, Michael Nelson, Kelly Barnett and Stephanie Barnett, one great-grandchild, Daisy Martine, her sister, June Marks, sister-in-law, Stella Langston, and many nieces and nephews.
