John W. "Jack" Harran, 82, of Kingwood went to be with his Lord Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He was born Thursday, November 14, 1935 to John and Catherine Harran. John is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Catherine Howard, Patricia Clegg, Joan Ditty; son-in-law William Doyle. He married his High School sweetheart, Barbara, in 1954. Served in United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. John graduated from LaSalle College, Philadelphia in 1963. He retired from Exxon after 38 years of service. He was an active member of St. Martha's Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered 25+ years at St. Martha's Kitchen.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Hare Harran; children, Helene Charles and husband Art, Patricia Doyle, Barbara Brown and husband Bobby, Kathleen Harran, Joanne Pike and husband Ron, John P. Harran and wife Debbie; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchilden; and many other family members and friends. A visitation will be Monday, May 14, 2018 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Porter. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park North, in Porter, TX.
