Condolences

Condolence From: Rod Stasick
Condolence: When I first met Aaron two decades ago, he was an imposing figure: tall guy with lots of tattoos and dreadlocks. We became good friends soon afterwards. For over a dozen years, we would meet up for lunch and/or dinner at least 3 or 4 times a week here in the Dallas area and end up talking for hours. Favorite restaurants were veg-based Indian or Ethiopian or Thai or pretty much any good veg-based place. I wish I could tell him that I found a place that makes a favorite of his, Cong you bing, but, alas, I now cannot. There were times when he would get in touch to get together and I would be busy with some project, but I nearly always said “yes” even tho I knew it would be an hours-long adventure and I wouldn’t get the work done that I needed to.

We would talk about all kinds of things: music (he hated stuff like head-banging metal but was a big fan of ambient and quiet-based works); religion (he hated Western-based religions like Christianity, but gravitated more towards Buddhism and Taoism), the arts (the more experimental, but subtle, the better: he once showed me photos that he took of shadows on his wall that he was considering entering into a contest) and we’d even compare our experiences with cat litter for our cats. He was the kind of guy whom I felt so close to that whenever I went on a trip somewhere, I’d pick up some kind of a gift (usually a book) for him because I’d see something and immediately think of his interests. We still have gifts from him situated around our house today. The world is lesser without him.

Condolence: I am just now learning of Aaron's passing. I'm in shock. Aarin and I worked together for several years at a tattoo studio in Addison tx. I gave been trying to track him down for a couple of years so we could finish the beautiful tattoo he started on my leg. I'm so bummed to hear about this and wondering what happened, how did my friend pass away... we had the kind of friendship that we could go long periods of time and not see or speak to each other and when we did see each other again it was like no time had passed at all. Aarin taught me allot of things that will stay with me for the rest of my days.... I love you my Brother and you will always live on as a fractal of who I am as a being. Thank you for everything that you contributed to my life and the lives of everyone you came in contact with. I will miss you terribly... I still have the drawing you made for me hanging up on my wall where it will remain. Rest in Bliss!

Condolence: Aaron was my neighbor and my friend. I would frequently see him working on various projects in his driveway, usually gardening related. I would stop by and he would tell me about his latest plan or about his latest aquisition and how he was going to use it in his garden. One day he would be mending netting to keep out the squirrels, another day he would tell me about the hot house tomato business and about the contacts he was making with local restaurants. He was very industrious and always working on something. It's hard to believe it's been a year since he left us. The neighborhood hasn't been the same without him.

Condolence: I am so sad to hear of Aaron's passing. I had my first tattoo done by him, in memory of my best friend. I remember being so very nervous, but he put me at ease and gave a beautiful piece of artwork. Rest in Peace friend.

Condolence: I'm so sorry to hear of Aaron's passing. I was friends with him around high school, and lost touch for awhile. A few years later I ran across him at a tattoo shop in Houston. After talking a bit, I paid a deposit for him to draw up my back piece. He gave me a great price. When we did the outline, he made me promise not to let anyone touch his artwork. After that, me being broke and him moving away to Florida I believe, I lost touch.
Every now and then I would look him up trying to track him down, but never had any luck.
It's been over 25 years I think, and I still have the outline covering my back of his great artwork. It will stay like that. R.I.P. Aaron...

Condolence: Aaron, so shocked to hear the news. I am truly saddened. You were an amazing artist, and I am proud to be a canvas for your amazing talent. I was literally talking about you today when someone admired one of the many tattoos you did for me. I will treasure them always along with our friendship.

Condolence: I was The mail carrier for Mr. Goolsby and I admired His record collection that he loved or delivering his tattoo supplies. We would occasionally have short conversations about the small things. I must say walking pass his house since I found Out has been different and I will Miss his presence on the corner.
