John Rubin (J.R.) McKithern, 80, of New Caney, Texas, went to be with His Lord Friday, April 20th, 2018.

J.R. was born October 27, 1937 to Lenard and Permealia (Holland) McKithern. He married Joyce Morris on August 24, 1957. He was a machinist, who started his own business (McKithern Machine Works) in 1973. Through his business he formed life-long friendships with many people.

He was a good and loving father who enjoyed spending time with his family, doing things like camping, fishing and waterskiing. If you went to J.R.’s house you would be watching either the Fox News channel or a western movie. He lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, three daughters, his parents, a grandson and a sister.

He is survived by his son, John L. McKithern and his wife Amber of Porter, Texas, daughter Elisa Snelson and husband David of Cushing, Texas, sisters Mary Futch and husband Weymon of Pineville, Louisiana and Gwen Beeson and husband Don of Keene, Texas, also many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
