Obituary for Theresa Mary Kone (Kratz)

Theresa “Tess” Mary Kratz Kone was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, on December 30, 1922, and left her earthly family and friends on February 11, 2018, in Pasadena, Texas.
Tess was a Registered Nurse and World War II veteran serving in the U. S. Army Nurse Corp from 1945 to 1947, for which she was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. On May 10, 1947, she married Robert M. Kone, and spent the rest of her long nursing career with the Civil Service and the VA Hospital 30 years. In addition to her military service and nursing career, Tess received her BS degree from the University of Houston in 1964 and her MS of Health Professions from Texas State in August of 1978.
Being a very active and versatile lady, Tess loved reading, deer hunting, dancing, and her association with others in the Bay Area Military Wives Club, NARFE, and as a member of the Eastern Star-Pearland Chapter.
Tess is survived by her brother Joseph; her children Rita, Kathy, Paul, Ed and Alice; her 11 grandchildren and her 4 great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents Adam and Catherine Kratz, her siblings Mary, Esther, Lawrence, and Leonard and by her husband of 39 years Robert M. Kone.
