Our beloved mother and grandmother, Wilma Jean (Laney) Rogers, born in Texarkana, Arkansas on December 26, 1933 to Wesley Hubert and Gerthie Mae (Morton) Laney, passed away peacefully January 30, 2018 in Madisonville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James C. Rogers, Sr. and step-granddaughter Robin Sandefur, and brothers Dewy Wesley Laney and Jack Willard Laney Sr. and sister-in-law Sara Laney.
Wilma Jean graduated from Humble High School with the class of ’52 and was a long-time resident of northeast Houston, residing on Oak Knoll Ln., where she owned and operated her own beauty salon for nearly 50 years. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed painting, hunting and camping.
Wilma Jean is survived by her children, daughter Sandra Bosley and husband Robert of Madisonville, TX, sons Randy Bosley and wife Penny of League City, TX and Ricky Bosley and wife Renee of Madisonville, TX, Stepson James C Rogers, Jr. and wife Tammy of New Braunfels, TX, stepdaughters Phyllis Rogers-Beinhorn and husband Ed of Humble, TX, Kathy Rogers Edington and husband Sonny of Jacksonville, TX and Sheila Rogers Hadlow and husband Marty of Spring, TX. She is also survived by her brothers Billy Ray Laney and wife Janice of Garrison, TX, JT Laney and wife Christine of Tyler, TX and sister-in-law Ruth Laney of Mount Ida, AR. Eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and eleven step-great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
